Moscow moving towards the Green Economy

“Moscow and the Moscow region generate about 25% of all municipal solid waste in Russia. This is why introducing separate waste collection in the city and the region is crucial to the environmental well-being of the nation,” TIARCENTER CEO Anton Gubnitsyn said at the conference “Modern Metropolis: Formation of Green Economy”. It was held in the Metropolitan University under the Moscow Government and gathered experts from Russia, Belarus, Finland and the Czech Republic. Anton Kulbachevsky, head of the Moscow City Department of the Environment, stressed that the green economy is a global trend and the only acceptable way for major cities.
