Why is the sharing model becoming a new driver of the economy? How does decreasing a company’s environmental footprint help optimize its costs? Kim Tjoa, co-founder of B2B marketplace Floow2.com, and Anton Gubnitsyn, head of the cluster RAEC / Sharing Economy, discussed those questions with members of the IT committee of the Association of European Business.
The case of Werflink, a project Floow2 made for the Flemish construction confederation, sparked an especially lively discussion. Thanks to the platform, construction companies can share equipment, materials and waste. Tjoa noted that this initiative was stimulated by a local regulator, which obliged construction firms to ensure reuse of their waste.
